INCREASING COLLABORATION & INNOVATION AT NEW HQ FOR MAJOR KOREAN GAME DEVELOPER
Establishing a future workplace vision and strategy for a rapidly growing global company
GOALS
In response to the urgent need to address shortage of space, and lack of a cohesive workplace strategy, this rapidly growing global gaming company decided to build and relocate its headquarters to Pangyo. Through the interior architect, a robust workplace strategy was commissioned to match the company’s ambition to deliver the ‘best-in-class’ workplace for its employees and help the company replicate its recent success, long into the future.
APPROACH
Through a full set of research activities that involved a workplace survey, leadership visioning, manger interviews, staff focus groups, and expert observations, it was discovered as a major concern that the current workplace grossly under supported employee collaboration. The truth was the legacy space was a result of years of haphazard planning, often dismantling meeting spaces in exchange of squeezing in more desks.
OUTCOMES
With the major goal identified, the workplace strategy development focused around addressing this key issue – at building stacking-, floor-, and ‘Neighborhood-’level, through the development of concepts that would foster more collaboration, and stimulate innovation. Collaborative spaces were planned ahead of individual spaces, and were closely aligned to how people actually worked/aspired to work.
